  • Love?

    Afar, at the heights of love,
    I am scared of its hurt;
    wide open, I welcomed the thorns —
    how seldom do I hear it wrong?

  • Way Back

    Shall I be lost in the triumph of the one I gain,
    or shall I behold the fight of the one I lost?
    They are ways to reach the old, and the new —
    but why does the shortest so often lead to you?

  • Endless Dream

    Behold my dreams, and wing them afar,
    to a place farther than the far of your smile,
    to a heart as close as yours and mine —
    I shall be told to love thee, and always.

  • Corner of Life

    I pass by morning again,
    to see myself walking down the same roads;
    some are with me, others lost in the past;
    you come and go — but I wait, in one corner of my life…

    There you come, as my beloved,
    hold my hand, and wish for nothing else;
    love yourself, and I love the world, and my desire — you;
    and holding myself in one corner of life, I wonder nothing else.

    And then comes the battle, and the loss;
    I run from you, and from your love;
    I watch you go, and come, and ruin my life;
    in one corner of my life, I regret, day after day…

    And with the morning now past,
    I hold one more desire, longing for one more;
    lost and lost, to wherever everyone has been —
    from one corner, I watch life go on, like this.

  • Happy Valentine

    Days come and go,
    but what shall I give you today?
    I thought of flowers, for beauty,
    but I see nothing more beautiful than you.
    I thought of chocolate, for sweetness,
    but how could anything be sweeter than your voice?
    I thought of a gift, for surprise,
    but it seems to fade before your eyes.
    I thought of a heart, to show love,
    but it appears less than your care.
    I thought of a smile, and happiness,
    but nothing is like your smile…

    And then I thought of words —
    and I just wrote a poem, on you.

  • बेरुख़ी

    यूँ न बेरुख़ी करो हमारे प्यार से,
    जान चली जाती तुम्हारे एक इशारे से।
    ज़रा नज़र उठा के तो देखो —
    आसमान भी रो रहा तुम्हारे प्यार के लिए।

    एक अरसे से उनको देखा नहीं,
    तिनके-तिनके में आती है नज़र;
    यूँ ही हँसते हैं उनकी याद में,
    ज़माना कहता — एक और दीवाना उसके प्यार में।

    तुमसे मिलने को मन करता है,
    लेकिन दिल को क्या पता, तुम तो बेवफ़ा हो…

    यक़ीन न हो तो पूछ लो दिल से —
    “हम आपके हैं कौन?”

    ज़माने भर से दोस्ती कर ली,
    सोचा — तुम कभी तो किसी के साथ मिल जाओगी।

    तुम्हारी याद में गुज़र गए लम्हे हज़ारों;
    किसी हँसीं लम्हे से जुदा-सा लगता है तुम्हारा सपना।
    पास भी हो, दूर भी, इस दिल से — तुम और तुम्हारी यादें;
    पर फिर भी, इस दिल को इनकार नहीं तुम्हारी नफ़रत से…

  • Life and You

    Raving of mine,
    to and for thine;
    mighty chimes shine,
    beneath the night and time…

    One more goodbye,
    and the still-standing sky;
    falling, but raising a voice,
    in the heat of failing love and cries…

    In the name of love,
    I found another me —
    lost, and conquered, as one;
    the carnival of life, and thine…

    I want more, and more,
    to wait, and to lose,
    to love, and to hate —
    to live the beauty of life, and you…

  • Valentine’s Day

    You row my day, and wake my night;
    you sleep beside my heart in its fight;
    you fire my dreams, and flow my blood,
    under the hope of one more life…

    You come across, and whisper love,
    but you make my life a hell, and goodbye;
    you burn my heart with one more desire,
    under the hope of one more Valentine…

  • Dichotomy of Love

    Come before, and still late to myself;
    noise all around inside, and peace outside;
    from day to night, and night to hurt,
    the ringing, and the silence, of time.

    In the heart of hate and love,
    with the cycle of joy and pain;
    destinations with no journey,
    one voice — and all of it empty.

    A recreation of thoughts and incidents,
    lasting, though never in your presence;
    fame to loss, hate to love —
    merely the active dichotomy of your love.

  • Another Love

    Gone far into the night,
    leaving only clues in sight;
    they reach you everywhere you go —
    a world of joy, and of rejoicing…

    Falling through the sky,
    below your dream-line;
    walking upon the trees,
    the storm has passed your side…

    There you go, and shine —
    the glory of her, and its time;
    withered, and trembled,
    but nature has its own drawing…

    I stand between one and another:
    one is close to my heart,
    and the other, devastating;
    but far beyond, where I reach, I found her by my side…
    Nature.
